Meat has multiple nutritional benefits and is consumed as the primary source of protein by an increasing segment of the world’s population. However, there have been significant environmental costs associated with the growing demand for meat. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reported in 2013 that livestock production accounts for 14.5% of all greenhouse gas emissions caused by human activity.

The best frontline managers’ pay only reflects 0.5% of the value they create

Frontline managers’ pay does not reflect their personal contribution to a firm’s profits. They capture only 0.5% of the value created, as opposed to 25–60% for more visible occupations such as CEOs, salespeople and realtors, according to a recent study by Arnaldo Camuffo from the Bocconi Department of Management and Technology and Federica De Stefano of HEC Paris and Matthew Bidwell from Wharton.

Disabled young people have less upward social mobility than their peers —and class background makes this worse

We know very little about the inequalities experienced by disabled people in the UK today. My research finds that disabled young people lag behind in employment compared to young people who are not disabled. Not only that, but it’s also likely that disabled young people will end up in jobs with worse pay and conditions than their parents: they have downward social mobility.
